With many of the formatting options already set, it is easy to create a well-organized web page.

All FrontPage templates are located in the Page Templates dialog box. In order to access these templates, you must open FrontPage and proceed with the steps to open a new web page. After you have chosen a template, a copy of it opens and is ready to use. FrontPage templates allow you to make design element changes, such as changing the image, fonts, tables, etc. When you are finished creating the web page based on the template, you can then save it to the appropriate location.

Select the General tab. A list of templates appears. From the list, select an appropriate template. The selected template appears under Preview. From the existing list, select the template. After you have chosen a template, it is a good idea to save your new web page right away so as to not lose any information.

Saving web pages based on a template is similar to saving any web page in FrontPage. Once you have formatted your web page to fit into the template, you can save it to the appropriate location with the appropriate file name. NOTE: When you use a template to create your web page and are saving that web page, you must name the web page because it is only a copy of the template and not the template itself.

With your new web page based on the template open, from the File menu, select Save The Save As dialog box appears. From the Save in pull-down list, navigate to and select the appropriate location you wish to save the web page. Since low tech templates are similar to regular web pages, you can use them very much the same way.

With their versatility, low tech templates can be located anywhere. You use a low tech template like a general template, entering appropriate information that will be formatted to fit the template. Choosing a low tech template is similar to opening any web page. Given the name of the template you are looking for, you can navigate through the files and folders via the Open dialog box and find the appropriate low tech template.

If you have not created one yet, refer to Creating a Low Tech Template above. From the File menu, select Open The Open File dialog box appears. From the Look in pull-down list, navigate to and select the appropriate low tech template. Like FrontPage templates, low tech templates must be renamed in order to save the template with the recently added text.

Once your web page is formatted to fit the low tech template, you can perform a Save As and save the web page anywhere appropriate. With the appropriate low tech template open, from the File menu, select Save As
